These helicopters are purpose-built for Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and are used globally for air ambulance and search missions. Notably, these are the only AW169s operational in New Zealand. They offer a unique combination of advanced avionics, safety features, and medical equipment designed for rapid response and in-flight care.

Supporting this fleet is the BK117 (Bolkov Kawasaki 117) helicopter, one of the most trusted rescue aircraft in the world. Known for its reliability, speed, and compact rotor design, the BK117 is especially well-suited to New Zealand’s diverse landscapes. Its ability to manoeuvre close to cliff faces and rugged terrain makes it a standout performer in time-critical missions.
