Know What You Already Hold AI, Data Governance and the Potential New Rules for Accountability in New Zealand

As organisations accelerate their adoption of AI, the conversation around data risk is changing.

The challenge is no longer simply about protecting new information or controlling access to emerging AI tools. It starts with understanding the data your organisation already holds – where sensitive information resides, who can access it, how it is being used, and whether existing governance frameworks are keeping pace.

Join Netskope and CybersecCon for an exclusive VIP breakfast exploring the intersection of AI adoption, data governance, privacy and organisational accountability in New Zealand.

Led by cybersecurity and governance specialist Katja Feldtmann alongside Brian Zerafa from Netskope, this executive discussion will explore the questions boards, management teams, security leaders, legal teams and privacy professionals should be asking as AI becomes increasingly embedded across the organisation.

The session will also consider how organisations can reduce the operational impact of privacy and security incidents by improving visibility over sensitive data, strengthening governance and creating greater alignment between security, legal, privacy and executive teams.

Why Attend?

AI is dramatically increasing the speed at which information can be accessed, analysed, shared and acted upon — but many organisations still lack a complete understanding of the sensitive information they already hold.

This VIP breakfast will provide a practical executive-level discussion around:

  • Understanding your existing data exposure – Know where sensitive information resides, who has access to it and how it is being used.
  • Preparing governance for AI adoption – Explore how the rapid adoption of generative and agentic AI is changing expectations around data governance, oversight and decision accountability.
  • Asking better questions at board and executive level – Identify the questions leadership teams should be asking about data, AI, privacy and organisational risk.
  • Reducing the impact of an incident – Understand how stronger visibility and governance can help minimise disruption when privacy or security incidents occur.
  • Breaking down organisational silos – Explore why security, legal, privacy, risk and technology teams increasingly need to operate as part of the same governance conversation.
  • Understanding the changing New Zealand privacy landscape – Consider how expectations around privacy enforcement and organisational accountability may evolve and what organisations can do now to prepare.
